Lovely Weather
This weekend was gorgeous again, in the low 80's! We were able to spend time with both friends and family both days. We played at a new playground, had our first BBQ of the season, went to the beach, and took a nice long nap! I'm sad the weekend is over and we have to go back to work, but I suppose the weeks make the weekends that much sweeter.

Recently his language has exploded, he's copying lots of words he hears and suddenly LOVES books! Goodnight Moon ("Moon"), 8 Little Monkeys, and Hand Hand Fingers Thumb (an old fav) are his top choices. He has about 10 that he regularly brings to us and wants to read. Its fun, he likes to point out things and name them and helps us to read too.
Baseball and Bananas
Last Tuesday the weather was still lovely so we decided to do a picnic for dinner. We went to our favorite local park and playground and let Finn play for a few minutes. Then we walked down toward the baseball fields (out of the line of sight of the playground, no way was he sitting still and eating when he could see the slide!) He liked watching the boys play baseball, kept saying "Ooooh!" and "Ball!" He also attacked a banana, as you can see from the picture.
Smelling the flowers
Last weekend was BEAUTIFUL! I got the gardening bug and decided to plant some flowers. Finn of course was very interested and so I taught him all about it. I asked him to smell the flowers and he would lean over, scrunch up his face and blow out of his nose, it was the cutest thing! He was really getting into it, smelled all of the flowers several times and would smile and talk. :) Of course he tried to grab the flowers too, but we got that straightened out.
Family Pictures 2009
I love the way these turned out! When I was growing up we had family pictures taken every year and I wanted to have that tradition with my family too. As you all know I'm a picture/scrapbook/memory freak! I just love having pictures to look at and enjoy seeing how everyone changes and grows. Anyway, Jamie indulges me and so we had our pictures taken by the same photographer who did our engagement and wedding pictures, Andy King (kingphotographystudio.com). These were acutally taken very close to where we did the engagement shots at WindnSea Beach in La Jolla, California, just so pretty. Here are a few favorites from our collection.
